Transparent Lock Screen is a Windows application designed to securely lock the computer desktop while still allowing users to see its content. This feature can be particularly useful for monitoring ongoing processes while protecting the desktop from unwanted access. The application can transparently lock the screen using several methods, including automatically when using standard methods such as Windows Key + L or selecting Lock from the Start menu. It also supports idle time activation, which locks the screen after a set period of inactivity, customizable by the user. Additionally, users can set a custom keyboard shortcut, for example, Win + Shift + L, or use command prompt activation by executing a specific command (tls.exe -lock). When the screen is transparently locked, users can choose between blocking or triggering unlock using various methods. These include mouse click or movement, pressing any key on the keyboard, the standard Ctrl + Alt + Del combination, or a custom keyboard shortcut. The application also offers several miscellaneous options. Users can hide the mouse pointer while the screen is in transparent lock mode, keep the computer awake, and log activities to a text file or the Windows Event Log.
